dear readers i have been busy this week!
saturday 24th july
on saturday it was mum and dads anniversary i cannot believe that they have been together 11 years. anyway we decided that because the westminster group were leaving that morning and the students were going away for the weekend we would occupy ourselves by going to the rainforest and doing a 3 hr walk and it was tiring yet fun. when we finished we went to this new hotel that had just been opened and we had lunch there. it....was.....
AMAZING. when we went home we waited until gilly and elizabeth and neville arrived.
sunday 25th july
on sunday we walked to the farm with gilly and elizabeth and neville. The pig has not had her babies yet
monday 26th july
on monday we drove to cyato so magnus and john could play football and volleyball w ith some children, so dad could see some buildings and so mum, gilly and elizabeth could do some teacher training for the day with the rwanda teachers. They had a debate on polygamy against monogamy, a topic chosen by the rwandans!
tuesday 27th july
on tuesday we went to nkombo to play with the children in the nursery. We used the parachute and played lots of games . The children loved running across the parachute and they showed us their wash your hands game
wednesday 28th july
on wednesday we went to the childrens village and sophie, imogen and i made stuff out of the rwandan beads. There was a lovely littel boy who played with a balloon with me and an older boy called philippe who played with mum. He had been found in the forest and had never met any people till he was eight or nine years old!
thursday 29th july
on thursday the rwandans had a day off because there president came to speak and they all went meanwhile we walked up to the farm and guess what? one of the pigs had had babies six hours beforehand and they were so cute! while we were watching a movie that night we spotted that the house opposite us was on fire i was so scared but it was OK in the end .
friday 30th july
yesterday we traveled to mwegera but when we were half an hour away from the school there was a flat tyre on the car. being in africa people stopped and helped us eventually a car came and took dad and one of the workers but it would be about 1hr and a half before we would be driving again. luckily we were right next to the hot springs and we had planned to go there on the way back so i was wearing my bikini so we went there. once every thing was alright we went to mwegera and there we got another flat tyre so we took out the new spare tyre that we had bought during the whole kaffuffle and switched that with the other tyre. Dad also lost his phone in all the trouble! what a day
I have been making clothes all week on the old singer sewing machine . Today i hope to go to the market to get the ladies co-operative to make me some skirts!

Hi Beth
ReplyDeleteTime is going by fast! What a time you've had. Poor daddy with the punctures, but I'm sure you enjoyed the Rwandans watching you all! Kev, Ruth & girls left on Monday by ferry and then took until Friday to drive to Badajoz, towing their caravan! We are looking forward to seeing you when you get back. Lots of love
