Dear readers I am so sorry for 2 things
1) I have not been writing for a while and
2) this is my last blog This is what I did:
Saturday 31st july
On Saturday the students did a long walk around kamembe to meet us at the guest house because we walked there then we walked back together.
Sunday 1st august
On Sunday we walked to the hotel du lac for a swim in the pool but when we turned up there was no water in the pool so we dangled our feet in lake kivu, it was so cool because we were basically in no mans land.
Monday 2nd august
On Monday mum and I took the material I bought to the ladies cooperative and they measured me and at this moment they are making two skirts for me, and a blouse for me. Everyone was working on the projects and mum and dad were preparing for us to go away for two days
Tuesday 3rd August 10
On Tuesday we left for kigali we flew there then met our safari guide and then we drove to akagera. Then we went on a safari. When we got there it was a dream come true. We checked in then went on a 1 hour safari followed by a 1 hour boat trip. And it was so fun . We saw elephants and got out of the truck and went up close to them
Wednesday 4th August 10
On Wednesday we left for a ten hour journey! We traveled to the top of the reserve which was where the animals were. To get us to the top it took us 6 hours while having stops to look at the animals but we went through the big section where the horseflies and tetzi flies stay. So we weren’t allowed to have the windows meaning we nearly died of heat but it was worth it because when we got to the top we got out of the car and ate our packed lunch surrounded by hippos, zebras, waterbucks and buffalos. It was absolutely the best safari because we went off tracks to get about 20 metres away from the animals.
Thursday 5th August 10
On Thursday we woke up at 3:30 so we could catch our flight from Kigali to kamembe. We relaxed then got ready for the arrival of our last guests Harriet and Jane from Kings house. The students had gone up to Kigali while we were at Akagera so they accompanied Harriet and Jane to the house.
Friday 6th August 10
We went to ishywa to visit the health centre and then we played football with the Rwanda aid staff. The health centre is really progressing well.
Saturday 7th August 10
Harriet, Jane, Mum and I walked to the farm to see how things were progressing while dad and the students went to see the chimps.
Sunday 8th August 10
On Sunday we went to patrics daughters conformation which was a 3 hour church service in kinya Rwandan. After that we went for drinks at patrics house and celebrated with her. The singing was amazing.
Monday 9th August 10
On Monday it was the election so we spent the morning cleaning the kitchen and the rest of the bathrooms and bedrooms . There were lots of insects and cockroaches. Mum found cockroaches in the kitchen curtains. then we walked to the hotel du lac and we swum. it was heaven.
Tuesday 10th August 10
On Tuesday we went to Nkombo to go to the nursery because jane had brought some toys from her nursery kids. They were really pleased to see us and we played with the parachute and taught them lots of songs
Wednesday 11th August 10
On Wednesday we went to cyato to give them the stuff the students bought in Kigali. They got computer equipment and a printer and dictionaries and bibles. Then we went to the pork shack for dinner because it was sophies last night
Thursday 12th August 10
On Thursday we went to the street children football match and met lots of children who live on the street and have no parents and no homes. We are hoping to build a village like Ngwino Nawe for them then went to the peace guest house for drinks then we went home for lunch then said goodbye sophie.

dear readers i have been busy this week!
saturday 24th july
on saturday it was mum and dads anniversary i cannot believe that they have been together 11 years. anyway we decided that because the westminster group were leaving that morning and the students were going away for the weekend we would occupy ourselves by going to the rainforest and doing a 3 hr walk and it was tiring yet fun. when we finished we went to this new hotel that had just been opened and we had lunch there. it....was.....
AMAZING. when we went home we waited until gilly and elizabeth and neville arrived.
sunday 25th july
on sunday we walked to the farm with gilly and elizabeth and neville. The pig has not had her babies yet
monday 26th july
on monday we drove to cyato so magnus and john could play football and volleyball w ith some children, so dad could see some buildings and so mum, gilly and elizabeth could do some teacher training for the day with the rwanda teachers. They had a debate on polygamy against monogamy, a topic chosen by the rwandans!
tuesday 27th july
on tuesday we went to nkombo to play with the children in the nursery. We used the parachute and played lots of games . The children loved running across the parachute and they showed us their wash your hands game
wednesday 28th july
on wednesday we went to the childrens village and sophie, imogen and i made stuff out of the rwandan beads. There was a lovely littel boy who played with a balloon with me and an older boy called philippe who played with mum. He had been found in the forest and had never met any people till he was eight or nine years old!
thursday 29th july
on thursday the rwandans had a day off because there president came to speak and they all went meanwhile we walked up to the farm and guess what? one of the pigs had had babies six hours beforehand and they were so cute! while we were watching a movie that night we spotted that the house opposite us was on fire i was so scared but it was OK in the end .
friday 30th july
yesterday we traveled to mwegera but when we were half an hour away from the school there was a flat tyre on the car. being in africa people stopped and helped us eventually a car came and took dad and one of the workers but it would be about 1hr and a half before we would be driving again. luckily we were right next to the hot springs and we had planned to go there on the way back so i was wearing my bikini so we went there. once every thing was alright we went to mwegera and there we got another flat tyre so we took out the new spare tyre that we had bought during the whole kaffuffle and switched that with the other tyre. Dad also lost his phone in all the trouble! what a day
I have been making clothes all week on the old singer sewing machine . Today i hope to go to the market to get the ladies co-operative to make me some skirts!

In the evening there was an English play at one of the schools because Freddie had been teaching them it for 2 months and there were people pretending to sing songs in the breaks. wednesday and thursday
Wednesday
Today we had a relaxing day, first a guy from the Congo called Eric came to sell carved wood and paintings I bought some of it .Then we walked to the peace guest house to have lunch .After that we took the car to Tendezi to the disabled village. some of the dorms were called The old vicarage, which was my old school and kings house .The children could not speak or hear and Fidel can only walk with his hands. I felt that I really wanted to help them more. When we gave them the toys we had bought they were very happy and played with them. It was chaos but they shared them very well. Fidel really liked the lion glove puppet. Then we went home and chilled.
Thursday
Today we had our first day in our last school Remera. On the 1st and 2nd lessons I did prepositions with dad then we had break . After that we had a sing song with primary 2. We sang if you're happy then lunch .Then I did another sing song then A lesson on clothes with mum and Emma from Westminster .We drove home in the pouring rain. It is raining right now while I am typing I can hear the thunderous noises from outside.
